First, find a suitable place for your meditation room. This should be an area that you do not normally use during your daily activities. In addition, this place should be quiet and tranquil. Next, place a cushion or a mat for you to sit on. The choice or design of the material is up to you but make sure they are comfortable. Next, place some items for your mind to centrally focus on. A dish of scented candles, a beautifully designed bowl full of cool water, a vase of incense, a vase of flowers, a mandala, and a few smooth stones are good examples. You can place any of these on a low table in front of you. Finally, if music relaxes you, you might want to contract someone to set up a speaker network so you could pipe in beautiful and relaxing tunes from your home stereo system. Alternatively, you can connect your MP3 player or your laptop to a couple of external speakers.
